WAVE SPRING
Wave spring is formed of flat wires of various materials, where the gap between the coils overlaps with its crest and troughs. When subjected to an external load, the spring contracts and deforms, storing the deformation energy. Wave spring belongs to the compression springs family, but it requires less space than regular coil springs and is suitable for components with limited internal space. Due to being versatile, wave spring is therefore often assembled in valve parts, bearing assemblies, clutches, etc.
Under the same elastic force (load), it has the following advantages:
1. The required volume is smaller, which can save space .
2.
The weight is lighter, which can reduce the weight of components and achieve light-weight .
3.
More compressible height is allowed and thus lower spring height after compression can be achieved .
