EXTENSION SPRING
Extension spring is also known as tension spring, which is wound with wires of various materials. The coils are tightly wound together, which absorb and store energy, and the ends are normally designed as hooks to be attached to other components. When the components move apart, a pulling force is exerted, the spring then creates a resistance force and tries to bring them back together. It is normally in the form of a circular cross-section, while its ends vary with the application. Common ends include round hook (English hook), square hook, semi-circular hook (German hook), U-shaped hook, movable hook, etc.
Extension spring is the second most commonly applied spring following compression spring. It can be applied in areas including automotive interiors and exteriors, garage door assemblies, farm machinery, toys… etc.
